This role provides dietitian services across our continuum of care. The Registered Dietitian will collaborate with our healthcare Administrators as well as our Executive Chef to ensure the nutritional needs of our residents are met.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plans and directs the nutritional care of residents in a healthcare setting. Ensures compliance with current federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations. Completes nutritional assessments and documentation as required.
- Assess and monitors the residents’ nutritional status and provides recommendations to clinical staff. Monitors residents for weight changes, nutrition support, and skin breakdown and makes recommendations as appropriate.
- Develops and updates nutritional care plans as needed. Updates diet orders and menu changes as required.
- Observes resident meal service to ensure diets are correct and modifications are followed. Educates residents, families and staff on nutritional concepts and diet modification.
- Conducts audits of relevant nutritional care on a routine basis.
- Works with other members of the interdisciplinary team to ensure that modified texture or therapeutic diets are in compliance with the resident’s medical condition. Monitors diets to ensure they meet the specialized needs of residents.
- Reviews menu changes to ensure compliance with policy and procedures and state and federal guidelines.
- Performs regular inspections of food service areas for sanitation, order, safety,
- Participates in inspection surveys and in QAPI activities when food and nutrition services are involved.
- Participates in interdisciplinary team meetings.
- Participate in the development and implementation of resources for independent residents regarding nutritional needs and/or education.
- Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics from an accredited college or university.
- Registered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and licensed in Nutrition/Dietetics as required by the applicable state.
- Experience in an Assisted Living or Skilled Nursing environment required.
