The Outstanding Dietitian Award is the highest honor given by the Washington State Academy. This award recognizes the commitment to excellence made by an individual who has demonstrated outstanding leadership and service to the profession.

Recognized Young Dietitian of the Year

The purpose of the RYDY program is to recognize the competence and activities of younger dietitians in the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and to encourage their continued participation in Academy affairs.  This group will be a resource from which the leadership of the Academy will develop, both at the district, state, and national levels.

Emerging Dietetic Leader

The Emerging Dietetic Leader Award recognizes the competence and activities of dietitians, regardless of their age, who have made distinctive contributions early in their dietetics careers to the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

Excellence in Practice Award

The Washington State Academy Excellence in Practice Awards acknowledge and promote the professional contributions to three general areas of practice: Management and Business, Community and Clinical and Research. Up to two nominees will be awarded each year. Please choose one area of practice per nominee.

Washington State Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics

Welcome to the 2026-2027 membership year! As we look ahead, my focus is on strengthening the organizational structure of our Academy, supporting modernization and innovation within the field of dietetics, and fostering a strong, connected community of nutrition professionals across Washington.

This year, we hope to create more opportunities for collaboration, professional engagement, and meaningful connections at both the state and district levels. As our profession continues to evolve locally and nationally, we remain committed to supporting our members through education, advocacy, and community.
