Position Description:

DOH is looking for a registered dietitian nutritionist (RDN) to serve as the coordinator of the DOH Formula Bridge Pilot project that helps WIC infants meet their nutritional needs by providing additional infant formula. This project position will be carried out by the Office of Nutrition Services (ONS). The ONS mission is to create opportunities for people with limited resources to make healthy nutrition choices. The office has four major programs: The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC), Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Education (SNAP-ED), Farmers Market Program, and the Breastfeeding Peer Counseling Program.

This Formula Bridge Pilot Coordinator (HSC 3) position is within the Client Services Section (CSS) and reports to the Client Services Section manger. The primary tasks of the Coordinator will be to establish and use needed forms, protocols, documentation requirements, and communication for this pilot. It also includes being the point of contact for the pilot. As the Coordinator, you will apply nutrition expertise to determine the need for WIC clients to participate in the pilot, and work with the project Administrative Assistant 2 and local agency WIC staff to ensure eligible WIC clients get the appropriate infant formula. Your work with DOH staff and partners will reduce issues related to the purchase and delivery of infant formula, keep vested parties informed of updates and provide needed training.

This recruitment is for one (1) full time project Health Services Consultant 3 position with the Office of Nutrition Services and is currently funded through June 30, 2023, with the possibility of an extension through June 30 2025.

The incumbent may be located anywhere within the State of Washington. Telework (mobile work) is currently expected. When approved, the incumbent will work with their supervisor to identify an appropriate work telework schedule. High quality internet connection is essential for this position. In-person interactions may be required for essential tasks and meetings.

Minimum Qualifications:

Two (2) or more years’ experience in a fast-paced office setting requiring the ability to work independently and meet deadlines under pressure.
Registered Dietitian Nutritionist credentials.

Desired Qualifications:

One (1) or more years’ experience using Washington WIC’s Cascades software system.
One (1) or more years’ experience managing contracts.
