Seattle Pacific University estimates a population of 4,000-10,000 Muslims living in the Seattle area. Gain insight and perspective about this religion and lifestyle from Katie Isberg, a recent Bastyr graduate who completed her thesis on the knowledge gap between RD’s and the Islamic community. Following her presentation, enjoy a presentation from a local Muslim community member from the Islamic Center of Redmond as they discuss and shares first-hand experience and knowledge.

Enjoy a hearty meal and great conversation with your colleagues prior to the meeting and spend some time networking and mingling while earning valuable CEU’s!

About the Speaker: Katie Isberg was born and raised in Seattle. She attended culinary school in 2009 and worked as a hospital cook at Valley Medical Center. Her love for learning about various therapeutic diets led her to pursue nutrition degrees. She attended Bastyr University and received her BSN/DPD in 2015 and MSN in 2017. She will be starting her dietetic internship later this month and hopes to specialize in diabetes or renal nutrition.
