The Washington State Food and Nutrition Council announces its annual conference to be held Friday, September 28, 2007, 8 AM to 5 PM, at Highline Community College south of Seattle.


Margo Wootan, DSc., RD, nutrition director at the Center for Science in the Public Interest, will be the keynote speaker: Challenges to Healthy Eating, A Policy Perspective.

Other notable speakers include:

Louise Carter, PhD, UW author of The State of Washington's Children: Weighing in on Health and Fitness; Janet Anderberg, RS, Food Safety Expert at WA DOH, will address Fear of Fresh; Pablo Monsivais, UW, on The High Cost of Eating Well; James B. MacKinnon + Alisa Smith, BC authors of Plenty: One Man, One Woman, and a Raucous Year of Eating Locally; and Kathleen Manenica, Cathy Franklin, Gaye Lynn MacDonald, David Bobanick, and Chris Curtis.

WSFNC has applied for 6 CDR CPE, Level 2.

Welcome to the 2026-2027 membership year! As we look ahead, my focus is on strengthening the organizational structure of our Academy, supporting modernization and innovation within the field of dietetics, and fostering a strong, connected community of nutrition professionals across Washington.
