Making the Case: How Dietitians Reduce Healthcare Costs and Improve Care

Speaker: Alexa Halling, MS, RDN

Description: In this webinar, participants will learn how dietitians reduce healthcare costs, improve patient care, and save lives. We will consider two areas of focus, SNAP and diabetes prevention and treatment, and review the literature on healthcare spending in these two areas. Though medical costs continue to skyrocket, dietitians provide a valuable service that mitigates costs while improving patient care. Dietitians are at the forefront of preventative medicine and can use these data to justify our scope of practice and staffing needs.
