  • Event
  • Saturday, October 22, 2016
This seminar will provide an up-to-date view of gut microbiota and how they function as both consumers of nutrients and as producers of nutrients and metabolic signals.

Participants will explore current research regarding the initiation and support of human microbial ecosystems from birth through old age, the microbiota association with health and disease states, and the approaches to manipulate an individual’s gut ecosystem with probiotics, prebiotics, and synbiotics.

This seminar will include presentations and a cooking demonstration, and will include content about both food and supplement sources of bacteria.
