Your RD Success Story Needed

The Los Angeles District and Orange County District of CDA will be providing a CPE program in September titled: Exploring New Horizons - Exciting Careers and Opportunities to Supplement or Enhance Your Professional Choices

In addition to our speaker from the Dietitians in Business and Communications Dietetic Practice Group, we will be providing summaries of dynamic and/or less traditional RD career stories from across the nation. We want to hear yours!

Please consider sharing your story and career experience in 600 words within the body of your email by August 8th and email to melissa@superkidsnutrition.com. You can list your website or list a link to a job opportunity if so desired.

Key Points to include:

· Do you remember if you have or developed a characteristic, like perseverance, curiosity or that special quality/attitude that helped propel your career?

· If you have a non-traditional career - how do you utilize your nutrition expertise for that competitive edge?

· Did volunteering lead to something?

· Was there a mentor or something special that lead to a turning point in your career or that got you started in a new career or specialty?

· What helped you accomplish what you have achieved the most?

· How do communicate your expertise to the public? Do you first, identify yourself as an RD when in the public eye?

· Do you work in an area where the traditional role has changed and more dietitians are needed?

· How did you create new opportunities?

· How did a personal or professional experience lead you to take a chance or start something new?

· If you happen to have a video of your story digitally available - we'd love to show it! Photos, book images etc welcomed.

· Be sure to include your full name, credentials, city and state, years in the profession are optional but welcomed. Head shots are welcomed.

· All ideas, personal stories, pursuing a PhD or…and any insights are welcomed.

All participants will receive a copy of the final presentation. Thanks for taking the time to inspire others and continuing to raise the bar for our profession.
