The Washington State Food and Nutrition Council invites you to a delightful Spring evening event, "Sustainability: Enjoying the Taste of Local Food" at the Graham Visitor's Center in the Washington Park Arboretum in Seattle, on Tuesday, May 16, 2006.

Starting at 4:30, enjoy appetizers featuring Northwest cheeses and other locally grown delectables prepared by Karen Jurgensen, chef and culinary instructor. Karen will share information about sustainability and efforts being made by chefs to utilize locally grown products. You'll also hear from Julie Wuesthoff of the Seattle Slow Food Movement and the activities of their chapter. The evening will conclude with a delicious buffet dinner of local foods prepared by Karen.

Welcome to the 2026-2027 membership year! As we look ahead, my focus is on strengthening the organizational structure of our Academy, supporting modernization and innovation within the field of dietetics, and fostering a strong, connected community of nutrition professionals across Washington.
