ADA Webinar: Health Care Reform

  • Event
  • Tuesday, October 05, 2010
Details:
ADA’s initiatives on health care reform are designed to provide our members with the tools to learn how to participate in the programs and grants that provide opportunities for registered dietitians. Our ADA leadership is essential in engaging our membership in this process. Participate in this webinar and learn more about the leadership role in guiding our members through the implementation phase of this ground-breaking legislation. For the first time, the role of prevention in health care has been elevated and will complement comprehensive efforts to manage and treat chronic disease. Your involvement as an ADA leader will help our members find the right path for their participation. Additionally, an update on ADA initiatives and resources will be given along with tips for using ADA’s new toolkit for health reform.

Overall learning objectives include:
* Describe key sections of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act that include nutrition education, medical nutrition therapy, and other opportunities for registered dietitians and explain ADA’s current Health Care Reform initiatives.
* Identify resources that can be used to improve the position of RDs in Health Reform through advocacy.
* List key steps members can take to help with advocacy efforts in each state.

Washington State Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics

Welcome to the 2026-2027 membership year! As we look ahead, my focus is on strengthening the organizational structure of our Academy, supporting modernization and innovation within the field of dietetics, and fostering a strong, connected community of nutrition professionals across Washington.

This year, we hope to create more opportunities for collaboration, professional engagement, and meaningful connections at both the state and district levels. As our profession continues to evolve locally and nationally, we remain committed to supporting our members through education, advocacy, and community.

Please stay connected through our website, social media, and monthly e-blasts for updates, events, and opportunities to get involved. I am honored to serve in this role and look forward to working alongside all of you this year.
