Washington State Food and Nutrition Council Annual Conference

  • Friday, September 17, 2010
This conference will highlight WA State programs that are helping to move the food system forward by reconnecting eaters with the roots of their edible history figuratively, literally, and culturally. Panel discussions will examine farm-to-institution projects, food programs embracing cultural diversity, the urban agriculture movement, and human rights within food systems. Our keynote speaker is Melinda Hemmelgarn, MS, R.D. (see below) and a locavore-friendly lunch will be provided by Herban Feast catering.

Featuring Keynote Speaker Melinda Hemmelgarn, M.S., R.D.!
Melinda is an experienced dietitian, “investigative nutritionist,” and award winning journalist.
A former W.K. Kellogg Food and Society Policy Fellow, her “Food Sleuth” column
