Fall Journal Club
Let’s Discuss….. Ethics: Health Equity and Dietetics-Related Inequalities

Date: Wednesday October 4th, 2023
Time: 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm
Place: PeaceHealth Southwest, 400 NE Mother Joseph Pl, Vancouver, WA

We will be in the Health Education Center Room 2. You can enter through the double doors of the Health Education Center building, or if you enter through the 92nd Ave entrance take the first hallway on the left to go down to the Health Education Center. If you have any trouble finding us please text Mary Heid 360-609-2859 or Justine Meyer 805-637-2696.

We will be reviewing the article by Sarah Klemm, "Ethics: Health Equity and Dietetics-Related Inequalities” from the Journal of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (2022). A great reason to discuss this article is to support meeting standards for ethics and cultural competency across our varied roles and workplaces as dietitians.

This event is free, and all RDs, DTRs, or dietetic students who live and/or work in the area are invited, including those who have never participated in SWDA before.

We hope you can join us!

Washington State Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics

Welcome to the 2026-2027 membership year! As we look ahead, my focus is on strengthening the organizational structure of our Academy, supporting modernization and innovation within the field of dietetics, and fostering a strong, connected community of nutrition professionals across Washington.

This year, we hope to create more opportunities for collaboration, professional engagement, and meaningful connections at both the state and district levels. As our profession continues to evolve locally and nationally, we remain committed to supporting our members through education, advocacy, and community.

Please stay connected through our website, social media, and monthly e-blasts for updates, events, and opportunities to get involved. I am honored to serve in this role and look forward to working alongside all of you this year.

Ginger Hultin (2026-27 Washington State President)
