Position Description:

Overview
Clinical Dietitian I - Supporting WIC Program located at Odessa Brown

• Provide nutritional assessment, education, and counseling for women, infants, and children enrolled to the WIC/MSS (maternity support services) programs. Document and implement a care plan.
• Accurately obtain anthropometric measurements and hematocrit/hemoglobin levels for WIC participants
• Provide breastfeeding education and support to WIC participants
• Complete WIC certifications, issue WIC food benefits, and refer families to health and community resources.
• Coordinate with WIC team members and medical providers to meet client’s needs
• Assure program compliance with WA DOH WIC policies and procedures
• Develop and implement an annual nutrition services plan.
• Plan and facilitate WIC staff meetings
• Be a resource on nutrition to WIC staff and health care providers in the clinic
• Coordinate care with Carolyn Downs Family Medical Center MSS staff for MSS patients. Participate in monthly meeting.
• Participate in Public Health Seattle King County (PHSKC) WIC RD/Coordinator meetings
• Use Washington State DOH WIC Cascades software and Epic software
• May require working some days at OBCC Central Area Clinic (central Seattle) and some days at OBCC Othello site (south Seattle)
• May be able to work some days remotely, depending on clinic needs
• Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

Required Education/Experience:
* Bachelor of Science in Nutrition or Clinical Dietetics
* At least one (1) year's experience in a hospital, clinic, or home based clinical nutrition setting
Required Credentials:
* Registration through Commission on Dietetic Registration (RD)
* Certification with State of Washington within months of hire (DI)

Desired Qualifications:

* Master's Degree in Nutrition, Clinical Dietetics, or Public Health with nutrition emphasis
* Prior pediatric experience
*Experience participating in departmental staff training/committees on nutrition-related topics/issues
