Simone Pappalardo, President |
Simone is a clinical dietitian at Providence Infusion and Pharmacy Services. She works with the adult population whom rely on nutrition support. Simone loves her job because it is a combination of clinical, outpatient, and home health all wrapped into one! She graduated from the University of Alabama and completed her dietetic internship with Utah State University. Simone is a California native, but has called Spokane home for about 8 years. She loves hiking, stand-up paddleboarding, and snowboarding. Simone has served on the GSDA board for 2 years now and loves meeting, learning, and networking with other dietitians in the community. |

Alison Fenske, Secretary |
Hello, my name is Alison Fenske and this is my fourth year serving on the board as Secretary. I have been working as a Registered Dietitian for Chas Health since 2018. I was born and raised right here in Spokane and graduated from WSU with a Masters degree in Nutrition, Exercise Physiology and Dietetics. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, especially my husband and our 2 boys. Together we enjoy anything outdoors, cooking and traveling. |
Sophie Kauffman, Treasurer |
Sophie Kauffman is Clinical Nutrition Manager for Providence's Inland Northwest Washington Services Area, which includes Sacred Heart, Holy Family, Mt. Carmel and St. Joseph Hospitals--it has been one of the greatest privileges of her life to work with such a dedicated team of clinical dietitians! This is her fifth year serving on the GSDA Board, having started her service in 2017. Originally from the west side of Washington State, Sophie came to dietetics on a circuitous route through a Sociology degree with an emphasis in Public Health, the culinary arts, and subsequent work with both the City of Seattle and the WA State Department of Health on food access initiatives at Washington State's farmers markets. She completed her Masters degree at the University of Washington, graduating in 2016 and moving straight away to Spokane to begin as a Critical Care per diem at Sacred Heart Medical Center. Sophie lives with her husband, two fur babies (Dean & Biscuit), and two chickens (Dolly & Loretta). In her free time she enjoys hiking, running, cycling, climbing, yoga, cooking, and making art. |
Brajee Green, National Nutrition Month Chair |
Brajee is a registered dietitian at Providence Infusion and Pharmacy Services in Spokane, WA. She graduated from Washington State University in the coordinated graduate program in 2019. She currently serves on her local Spokane dietetics board as the National Nutrition Month Chair, the state dietetics board as the Nominating Committee Chair - elect, and Northwest ASPEN board as the treasurer. Her passion is nutrition support and creating long lasting relationships with her patients. In her free time, she likes trying new restaurants, spending time with her husband and two kids, and of course drinking lots of coffee! |
Tina Dobrowski, Communications Chair |
Hello, I am Tina Dobrowski, MS, RD. I’ve been an RD since graduating from the WSU MS, CDP, NEP program here in Spokane, WA in 2021. I’m currently working in the role of Clinical Nutrition Director of three Regency Pacific buildings in Spokane, Kennewick, and Omak, where I am responsible for supporting residents in their recovery from injury and illness, as well as optimizing the nutritional status of those unable to return to independent living. I have previously held the role of Legislative chair of the GSDA, and I am so excited to take on my new position of Communications chair. When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our three fur babies, caring for and managing our honeybee hives, gardening, kayaking, skiing, spinning, and practicing Pilates. |
Kari Thompson, Scholarship & Nominating Chair |
Kari is a registered dietitian at The Emily Program, where she helps treat eating disorders. She works with adults in the PHP program and with adults and adolescents as an outpatient RD. Kari graduated with her MS from Washington State University’s CPD NEP program in 2021. This is the first year Kari has served on the GSDA board in the position of Scholarship and Nominating Chair. She is excited to serve in this capacity and meet new dietitians in the Spokane area. She also enjoys hiking, yoga, reading, camping and gardening outside of work. |
Julie Larsen, Membership Chair |
Julie earned her PhD in Nutrition and Exercise Physiology at WSU Spokane where she currently works as an Assistant Professor. She also volunteers as a Health Promotion Clinical Director and has served on the GSDA board for seven years in various capacities. Julie enjoys gardening, hiking, camping, and serving in her church. |

April Davis, Legislative & Media Chair |
April is an associate professor in the department of Nutrition and Exercise Physiology (NEP) in the Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine on the WSU Spokane Health Sciences campus. April is the program director for the Master of Science Coordinated Program in Dietetics, with a teaching emphasis on community nutrition. Travel and discovering joy through cultural food traditions are two of April’s many passions. |
