President
Aria Wexler
Aria is a registered dietitian nutritionist and certified diabetes care and education specialist. She holds a degree in Clinical Nutrition from the University of California, Davis, and a Master of Business Administration from Dominican University. Aria specializes in diabetes management and nutrition education during pregnancy. Committed to increasing healthcare access for all, she has actively volunteered with the Association of Diabetes Care and Education Specialists. In her free time, Aria enjoys creating pottery, camping, and spending quality time with her friends and family.

President Elect
Sreevidya Pasumarthi
Sreevidya is an RD-eligible nutritionist at Sea Mar Community Health Centers, where she works in community nutrition supporting women, infants, children, and families. She received her MS in Nutrition and Dietetics from Bastyr University and completed her dietetic internship with Sea Mar, with a strong focus on community nutrition and pediatric clinical care. She is passionate about public health, maternal and child health, and providing culturally meaningful and accessible nutrition care. Sreevidya looks forward to connecting with fellow nutrition professionals, supporting emerging professionals, and contributing to a strong and inclusive dietetics community in the Greater Seattle area.
Outside of nutrition, Sreevidya is a musician who enjoys using her voice to support charitable causes. In her free time, you’ll likely find her experimenting with a new recipe, making music, or exploring new places with her family.
Secretary
Janell Chang
Janell is a newly credentialed Registered Dietitian, having received her Master of Science in Nutrition in 2025 and completed her dietetic internship in 2026 at Bastyr University. She is based in New York City and currently works as a clinical dietitian at Jamaica Hospital. Despite being on the East Coast, Janell has a deep appreciation for her nutrition roots in the Greater Seattle area and continues to work with her friends and colleagues to support the field of dietetics.
Outside of nutrition, Janell enjoys spending time with her long-time boyfriend and her cat, finding new board games to love, and relaxing with a good story. She's excited to be exploring NYC to find new foods to love

Treasurer
Kaitlin Sandberg
Kaitlin is an outpatient oncology dietitian at UW Medical Center, where she supports patients navigating cancer treatment and survivorship. She received her MS in Nutritional Sciences from UW’s Graduate Coordinated Program in Dietetics. Prior to graduate school, she spent 10 years working in marketing and product development for food and beverage companies. Kaitlin is passionate about weight-inclusive care, debunking nutrition myths, and providing practical, individualized recommendations to her patients. In her free time, she likes to explore local parks, eat lots of snacks, and spend time with her family outdoors.

Nominating Committee Chair
Melissa Mroz Planells
Planells is an adjunct professor at Benedictine University, owns a private practice in Chicago and Seattle, and is a member of the Academy’s Renal Dietitians dietetic practice group. She has written book chapters and has researched quality of life and malnutrition in chronic kidney disease. Planells has served in leadership roles with the Chicago and Illinois Academies of Nutrition and Dietetics, Greater Seattle Dietetic Association, NW Renal RD, the National Kidney Foundation, and the Illinois Council on Renal Nutrition. She graduated from Bradley University, earned a master’s degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, and a doctorate from Rutgers University.
