Position: Student Representative (The duties of this position can be shared among two people)
Term: Elected by membership – 1 year term
Qualifications:

Member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND)

Member of the North Sound Dietetic Association (NSDA) -Board members get free NSDA membership
General Duties of all NSDA Board Members:

Attend all board meetings, events and professional development meetings.

With assistance from the board, create the Fall Newsletter

Assist with social media, advertising and email, as needed.

Assist with recruitment and orientation of your position for the following year.

Assist in recruiting sponsors, planning events, recruiting speakers.

Perform any additional duties as directed by the BOD.
General Duties of the Student Representatives:

Attend all board meetings, events and professional development meetings, representing student perspective and bringing any student centered issues before the board.

Contact schools/internships:
-
At the beginning of each year (starts in September) to advertise the upcoming years events.

Throughout the year to advertise professional development meetings.

Distribute the Fall Newsletter to the mailing list (email).

Draft professional development ‘email blasts’ (or possibly evites, facebook), coordinate with Media Chair - Email should go out a month before the event with reminders 2 weeks before event and 1 week - 3 days before.

Email blasts should be sent out three weeks, one-to-two weeks and two-to-three days prior to a professional development meeting or NSDA activity.

Must Include: Title of presentation, location, date, time, speaker name, pertinent info (is dinner included), and the list of upcoming events

If available consider including CPEU learning codes and learning competencies, sponsorship information, professional development calendar (for remainder of year) and any other announcements.

Confirm final draft with one other board member before sending.

Maintain the master mailing list (email).

Remove addresses that are no longer active or if removal is requested. Add the addresses of those who attend meeting or ask to be added.

Maintain the master professional development roster.

Collect membership forms and update roster on Google Drive.

Add PayPal and by-mail purchases to roster before meetings.

Assist with set-up before professional development meetings:

Welcome/sign-in people as they arrive at event.

Provide sign-in sheets, membership forms, list of future events and name tags.

Collect membership dues and drop-in fees to give to treasurer.

Update master mailing list and professional development roster via NSDA Google Docs.
-
Be the “point-person” for other students at events. Assist students with membership information, and connecting with each other and other professionals.
