Education Chair

Position: Education Chair 

Term: Elected by the board - 2 year term 

Qualifications: 

  1. Member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND) 
  2. Member of the North Sound Dietetic Association (NSDA) 

General Duties of all NSDA Board Members: 

  • Attend all board meetings, events and professional development meetings. 
  • Contribute to the Fall Newsletter. 
  • Assist with social media, advertising and email, as needed.
  • Assist Nominating chair with recruitment and orientation of your position for the following year. 
  • Assist in recruiting sponsors. 
  • Perform any additional duties as directed by the BOD. 

General Duties: 

  • Plan presentations/speakers for all professional development meetings of the membership year. 
  • Obtain topic and speaker suggestions from the nominating chair’s report at board meetings. 
  • Maintain a list of potential speaker and topics. 
  • Provide speakers with information on meeting date, time, location and all other details. Check on AV needs and secure equipment. 
  • Submit speaker roster to the board by August. 
  • Submit presenters name, work title, bio, presentation title and objectives to the student representatives three weeks prior to the professional development meeting for the email blast. 
  • Submit speaker handouts to the Media Chair 5-7 days before each professional development meeting to be uploaded to the webiste. ● Submit continuing education forms to CDR for subsequent approval/credit. ● Create Certificates of Continuing Professional Development Education Units for each approved activity and provide to particiapting attendess. ● Upload CPEU Certificates to Google Drive to archive. Upload self-study CPEU Certificates to the Dropbox and Google Drive. 
  • Send Thank You notes to speaker(s) and sponsor(s) after each meeting. ● Coordinate with the BOD to determine appropriate compensation for professional development speakers.
  • Prepare and submit to the BOD a schedule of programs and activities for the coming year by May of the current year. 
  • Collect Event Evaluations and add the info to NSDA google drive, report info to President (Susie), and review in meeting (use for planning upcoming events).
