Current NSDA Board

NSDA Executive Board 2017-2018

President: Lisha McGinty

I am a proud graduate of Washington State University; I completed their Coordinated Program in Dietetics in 2009. I have worked as a community dietitian for Pregnancy Aid - WIC for the last eight years, and have really enjoyed working with the young families at WIC. This will be my fourth year on the board. Being on the board has been such a great experience; I’ve grown professionally and have been able to work with so many great dietitians in our region. Outside of work and NSDA I try to enjoy as much of the PNW as possible with family and friends, including spending many long weekends on Lake Mayfield. Looking forward to another great membership year with NSDA.

I am a registered dietitian living in Edmonds, WA. I attended both WSU and SPU, go Cougs! After achieving my RD, I started working in the eating disorder field and stayed there for about 2 ½ years. Last October I started on a fresh new journey in the school nutrition field and am currently the dietitian for Seattle Public School’s Nutrition Services. I am very passionate about food service and feeding our city’s children with nutritious meals! If I’m not at work you can find me at home, wedding planning with my cat by my side, or out on a trail in the Cascade Mountains. This is my second year on the NSDA board and I am very excited for another year surrounded by dietitians eager to learn from each other!

Treasurer: Audrienne Lair

I have been a Dietitian for 10 years, the last seven at Puget Sound Kidney Centers working with dialysis patients. Before that I worked at Providence Hospital and their outpatient clinic. I graduated from San Francisco State University, and completed my Dietetic Internship at Bastyr University. On the weekends I’m busy hiking, riding my Bianchi bike, gardening and enjoying the Seattle restaurant scene.  Tavolata and The Walrus & the Carpenter are just a few of my favorite restaurants!

Well . . . . since I discovered as a DPD student, that there weren't nearly enough internships to go around, I've been plotting to help make things better.  I've been preceptoring for 6 years, which helps in a small way.  I'm half way through the process of creating a Distance Learning Dietetic Internship with a focus on growing, harvesting and preparing food.  Interested in join me in this endeavor?  In my spare time I dehyrate lots of food and last summer took an amazing trip to the Galapagos Islands with my eight year old.
 Nominating Commitee: Tina Bagoshvili

Health and fitness has always been a huge passion of mine. I am a fitness instructor aspiring to become a Dietitian. In late 2016 I caught a terrible stomach virus that lasted roughly 7 months. This was a very eye opening experience for me. It reiterated how truly important what we choose to fuel our bodies with really is; it affects every aspect of your life. In my free time I love being active and exploring the PNW. Hiking is one of my favorite hobbies! I also love playing around with new recipes, I am all about creating delicious healthy meals. I'm extremely excited to be a part of NSDA! This will be my first year on the board. I can't wait to continuously learn from this incredible community!

Media Chair: Nichole Cortez

As a recent graduate from Bastyr University and a dietetic intern, I aspire to gain more experience as a clinical RD before continuting my education. Prior to becoming a student I was an aircraft electronics maintainer in the U.S Navy. In my free time I enjoy volunteering, hiking, camping with my husband, and traveling as much as possible! This is my second year on the board and I am excited to continue getting to know everyone while learning more about dietetics!

Student Representative Chair: Emily Izer

I earned my bachelor’s degree in Spanish and Sociology from the University of Massachusetts in 2013, and am currently completing my Masters in Nutrition at Bastyr University with the goal of becoming a Registered Dietitian.  I’m passionate about food and health, and helping others achieve greater well-being through what they eat!  In my free time you’re likely to find me playing around in the kitchen or exploring one of Seattle’s awesome farmers markets.  I also love running, hiking, yoga, and enjoying all that the PNW has to offer.  I’m excited to be joining the NSDA board this year as Student Representative!
Student Representative Chair: Marianna Kozak
Hi! I’m Marianna, a second year MSN/DPD student at Bastyr University. My previous degree is in fine art and I definitely appreciate a creative approach inside the classroom and the kitchen! I enjoy working with local organizations such as Hunger Intervention Program, YMCA and Seattle Tilth. This will be my first year on the NSDA board and i’m looking forward to meeting more dieticians and listening to lectures as I begin applying for internships!
