Treasurer: Rose Jarrahian

Ever since I was in high school I have had a goal of becoming an RD. That was almost 30 years ago! I have been down different paths over the years including being a mom to three wonderful children, working in restaurants and retail, completing an associate’s degree in accounting, and working in accounting for about 10 years. However, that dream of becoming an RD was in the back of my mind the entire time. Several years ago I was able to return to college. I was actually going to pursue an accounting degree when I returned, but I ended up taking Nutrition 101 for a science credit. As I sat in class listening to my amazing nutrition instructor on the very first day, I knew I had to pursue nutrition! I graduated from Bastyr University with a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition, DPD in 2017. I completed the dietetic internship and passed the RDN exam this Fall (2020). I am so happy to finally accomplish my goal of becoming an RD! I have been Treasurer of the North Sound Dietetic Association since 2019. My hobbies are baking, cooking, kayaking, paddleboarding, and reading while cuddling my little dog Ziggy.

Media Chair: Katie Taylor

Hello! I recently graduated from Bastyr University with a Master of Science degree in Nutrition. I am currently completing a Dietetic Internship with Seattle Pacific University on my way to becoming a Registered Dietitian. I am passionate about gut health and am excited to pursue a career in community nutrition education and outpatient counseling. Baking bread recipes from around the world and fermenting vegetables have been recent highlights from my interest in exploring the culinary arts. I love to be outdoors in the Pacific Northwest and may encounter you on a kayak, bike, or pair of hiking boots.
