Community Liaison

Position:  Community Outreach/Liaison (duties can also be shared among two people)

Term:   Appointed by membership to a 1 year term.

Qualifications: 

  1. Member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND)

  2. Member of the North Sound Dietetic Association (NSDA)

 

General Duties of all NSDA Board Members:

  • Attend all board meetings, events and professional development meetings.

  • Contribute to the Fall Newsletter

  • Assist with social media, advertising and email, as needed.

  • Assist Nominating chair with recruitment and orientation of your position for the following year.

  • Assist in recruiting sponsors.

  • Perform any additional duties as directed by the BOD. 

 

General Duties of the Community Liaison:

  • The mission of the NSDA Community Outreach/ Liaison is to develop and coordinate effective community outreach, and collaborate with diverse communities to deliver programs and services that encourage and assist people towards healthy and successful lifestyle changes.

  • The NSDA Community Outreach/ Liaison will utilize his or her public relations skills to promote awareness, find volunteers and organize events that benefit the North Sound community.

  • Represent NSDA at internal, external, promotional or program events supporting NSDA’s work in health, safety and  community nutrition education.

  • Prepare written materials for marketing, grant or program reports, and other outcome-based purposes.

  • Assist with database maintenance of volunteer coordination.

  • Assist with social media, as needed.
