Planning an educational event?
To apply for CPEU, you will need to submit your CPE request online.
*Look under Step 2.
The Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) has switched to a paperless system for prior approval of Continuing Professional Education (CPE) activities.
All Activities and their supporting materials are now submitted directly to the CDR Database by the organizations contact, and then reviewed by our affiliate reviewer online. Activity verifications are generated by the CDR CPE Database.
Supporting documents that you will upload include:
- Event timing, including time spent for registration, introdutions and breaks. It is sufficient to send the program brochure if it includes this information.
- Learning objectives
- Brief speaker info/bio/CV related to topics presented. Please provide speaker information indicating why the speaker is qualified to speak on the assigned topic.
You will find helpful new and helpful resources and information for submitting prior approval requests on the CDR website.
Submit the information at least 4-6 weeks in advance.

Remember, with the Portfolio program, attendees should receive a certificate or some other form of verification for their records.
The Commission on Dietetic Registration is pleased to announce a new feature, the Continuing Professional Education (CPE) Database, has been added to our web site. The database provides an easy way for RDs and DTRs to locate professional development activities. Individuals can search the database for listings of CDR-approved CPE activities by location, date or key word. The CPE Database can be found in the Professional Development Resource Center at http://www.cdrnet.org/applications/cpe/index.cfm. CDR will be continually updating and enhancing its web site.
