Executive Board 2016-2017

NSDA Executive Board 2016-2017

President: Frances Arnold

Since 2008, I’ve used mind-body models, including intuitive eating and integrative & functional nutrition, to help clients address weight, fatigue, digestion and pregnancy.

I’ve taught therapeutic yoga since 2000 and am working toward my certification through the Integrative & Functional Academy (IFNA).  I am a cofounder of Dietitians for Professional Integrity (DFPI).

I regularly feature colleagues on my podcast at: www.NamasteNutritionist.com.

My private nutrition practice is in Lynnwood, WA.

It’s an honor to serve NSDA!

President Elect: Lisha McGinty

I graduated from Washington State University with a B.S. in Food Science and Human Nutrition and completed their Coordinated Program in Dietetics in 2009. I have worked as a community dietitian for Pregnancy Aid of Snohomish County’s WIC Program for the last seven years, I really enjoy working with the young families at WIC. This will be my third year on the board, I’m looking forward to another great year of professional development.

Secretary: Lindsey Danner

Hi, I’m Lindsey Danner, a registered dietitian from Edmonds, WA.  I attended WSU and SPU to complete my DPD, go Cougs! I’ve worked in eating disorder treatment for adults and adolescents for the last 2½ years and truly enjoy watching people become excited about food again! I love to get out in the PNW to hike, I have a cat named Tessie that rules the world, I’m an enthusiastic cook, and love spending time with my family—usually involving food.

Treasurer: Audrienne Lair

I have been a Dietitian for 10 years, the last seven at Puget Sound Kidney Centers working with dialysis patients. Before that I worked at Providence Hospital and their outpatient clinic. I graduated from San Francisco State University, and completed my Dietetic Internship at Bastyr University. On the weekends I’m busy hiking, riding my Bianchi bike, gardening and enjoying the Seattle restaurant scene.  Tavolata and The Walrus & the Carpenter are just a few of my favorite restaurants!

Professional Issues Chair: Susie Fox
Before my career in Dietetics, I was a classroom science teacher for 7 years.  With degrees from Stanford,  Bastyr, and the Distance Intern Program at Oakwood University, I've spent equal time on both sides of the lectern.  I'm passionate about getting kids into the kitchen, the gardens, and the forest, and my business, Fox in the Forest, creates play based opportunities for learning.  I also run cooking programs for the YMCA, and work with Senior Lunch Programs. My long term goal is to reduce the shortage of internships for graduating DPD students, possibly by starting a new Distance Learning Internship program with other interested folks. I'd love to hear your thoughts about that.

Media Chair: Kelsey Perusse

As recent graduate of Bastyr University, I am grateful to be part of the NSDA board. Presently, I work in Shoreline in private practice as a Certified Nutritionist and am preparing to apply for my dietetic internship. Prior to attending Bastyr, I earned my BA in Business & Economics from Westmont College and also attended Natural Gourmet Culinary School in New York to become a certified chef. I am passionate about teaching people fun ways to apply nutrition principle in their kitchen. In my free time, I enjoy running, recipe development, traveling and hiking with my husband and two dogs.

Student Representative Co-Chairs:
Nicole Cortez
I am currently a 2nd year student at Bastyr University’s Dietetics program while additionally working for Providence Regional Medical Center as a Diet Assistant. After graduation I aspire to work in a clinical setting promoting whole food eating and positivity while also continuing my education. Prior to becoming a student I was an aircraft electronics maintainer in the U.S Navy. My hobbies include hiking, camping with my husband, and traveling as much as possible!

Student Representative Co-Chairs:
Karissa Fuller
I am a second-year MSN/DPD student at Bastyr University, and passionate about increasing access to nutritious foods and quality nutrition education for low-income communities. I hope to specialize in food security, food policy, and weight management as a future RD. Outside of school, I enjoy trail running, cooking, being outside, and learning about other cultures through food and international travel. I look forward to serving this year as a Student Representative for the NSDA!
